The Wall of Respect was an outdoor mural created in 1967 on the South Side of Chicago by a group of visual artists from the Organization of Black American Culture. It was a time when African Americans were virtually absent from the mainstream media.

We also dedicate the wall to the memory of all men and women no matter their faith or nationality who have sacrificed their lives for human rights and dignity in the last 50 years.
